Ronald E. Warnick, MD Named Chair of AANS/CNS Section on Tumors
CINCINNATI, Ohio – Ronald E. Warnick, MD, has been appointed Chairman of the Section on Tumors of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS). Dr. Warnick most recently served the Section on Tumors as Secretary-Treasurer.
The Section on Tumors is made up of neurosurgeons that specialize in the care of patients with brain tumors. The Section serves in an advisory capacity on issues related to their specialty while providing a forum for education and research on tumors of the nervous system. The members of the Section also represent the AANS and CNS to other organizations on matters relating to tumors.
Dr. Warnick also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Mayfield Clinic, one of the nation’s largest and most respected groups of neurosurgeons. Dr. Warnick, who joined the Mayfield Clinic in 1991, is a professor of neurosurgery and director of the Division of Surgical Neuro-Oncology at the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Medicine. He is also medical director of neurosurgery at The Jewish Hospital, and a member of The Neuroscience Institute at University Hospital.

The group includes 18 neurosurgeons and treats 20,000 patients from 35 states and a dozen countries in a typical year.
