Position: Patient Account Representative Location: Oak Street
Reports To: Marina Ortiz-Ellison, Manager, Patient Accounts
Status: Full-time
Posted: 4.24.2012 Responsibilities - Help develop and maintain a corporate culture that supports the mission and values of Mayfield Clinic.
- Sorting and auditing of hard copy and electronic claims.
- Editing claims on the electronic billing system.
- Researching data to be used in correcting hard copy and electronic claims.
- Updating patient accounts data in the billing system as required or appropriate.
- Contacts third party payers by phone or on-line inquiry regarding unpaid bills. Supplies information as needed to assure prompt payment and responds to
written/verbal requests for information needed to finalize claims.
- Answers phone inquiries regarding bills, charges, third party declinations, and account status.
- Maintains documentation and updates patient accounting system for appropriate claims submission, third party requests for information adjustments, and other
pertinent information in support of the functions listed above.
- Interacts with other departments to clarify charges and secures appropriate medical records and other data needed to secure payment.
- Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements - Two years experience in healthcare billing.
