The Mayfield Clinic of Cincinnati, Ohio, has treated hundreds of thousands of patients since its establishment in 1937 by Frank H. Mayfield, MD. As part of its historical role in the training of young physicians, Mayfield works hand-in-hand with the University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery to oversee faculty members, resident training and clinical fellowships.
The UC Department of Neurosurgery, which represents Mayfield's academic arm, oversees the neurosurgical residency and clinical fellowship programs, which take place concurrently at the University Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Christ Hospital, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
