Mayfield Spine Institute: Established in 1996
In 1996, Mayfield introduced the Mayfield Spine Institute, a subsidiary of the Clinic devoted to the treatment of spine diagnoses, injuries, and disease. It is the largest and most experienced network of spine specialists in the Midwest, and draws patients from throughout the United States.
The Mayfield Spine Institute's interdisciplinary team of professionals includes board-certified physicians in physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurosurgery as well as licensed professionals in physical therapy.
Features of the MSI include
- An aggressive, nonsurgical approach to spine care.
- Coordinated, disease-specific care among dedicated, trained, and experienced spine care providers.
- Geographically dispersed local clinic sites.
An Integrated, Nonsurgical Approach
Mayfield uses an integrated approach to the treatment of spine injuries and disease. The goal of the program is to treat most patients with standard treatments involving physical therapy, home exercises, hydrotherapy, chiropractic manipulation and pain management, with surgery being a last option. Mayfield's team is committed to using state-of-the-art treatments. This approach ensures superior quality, lower costs, and highly satisfied patients and referring physicians.
Clinical Treatment Guidelines
Mayfield's medical professionals have designed specific protocols for treating patients who suffer from back- and neck-related injuries and disease. These protocols assure a consistent approach to the treatment of spine injuries.
Quality, Convenience and Value
Care is coordinated through a centralized, computerized network by a team of registered nurses. The Mayfield Spine Institute offers convenient office locations throughout Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky and is affiliated with all major area hospitals. The Institute participates in health care programs offered by over 50 managed care providers.
