About Mayfield Imaging Center
For more than 50 years the Mayfield Clinic & Spine Institute has provided neurosurgical care to residents of Northern Kentucky, where many of our neurosurgeons live and work. In 1999 Mayfield expanded services to Northern Kentucky residents with the opening of the Mayfield Imaging Center. The center utilizes a short bore, GE Signa Excite HD 1.5T system that provides advanced MRI capability and maximizes patient comfort. We are pleased to provide these advanced diagnostic imaging services to the area. Our Center is the only state-licensed health provider of MRI services in Northern Kentucky and is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology. Our radiologic technologists also are MRI-certified by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
What is magnetic resonance imaging?
MRI is a safe and effective medical imaging technique that produces clear pictures (or images) of the human body. It provides an excellent way to diagnose diseases of the brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis and blood vessels.
Our MRI system
The Mayfield Imaging Center uses a new short-bore MRI, which, like other state-of-the-art MRIs, produces extremely high-quality images, but which also provides optimal patient comfort. Our new short-bore MR system delivers excellent anatomical detail, which allows us to provide a complete range of MRI/MRA exams, even on complicated cases.
Patients and referring physicians can be confident that exams will be interpreted by our experienced board-certified radiologists, all of whom have subspecialty expertise and are nationally recognized. The Signa Excite HD MR system was developed by GE Healthcare, one of the world's leading manufacturer of MR systems.
Our MRI capabilities include:
Peripheral MR Angiography
