Dr. Strauss specializes in neurotrauma research, with emphasis on the function of neuroinflammatory genes after traumatic brain injury, e.g., understanding arachidonic acid metabolism to eicosanoids, and developing specific treatments to reverse the pathological changes caused by harmful eicosanoids while increasing the brain levels of beneficial eicosanoids.
