near-total removal of acoustic tumors (leaving tumor remnant attached to nerves) may be best technique to improve hearing and facial nerve function after surgery
observation (watch & wait) may be best treatment for small tumors, especially in those who still have useful hearing
fractionated radiotherapy (multiple low-doses) is best to preserve useful hearing and has equivalent tumor control compared to radiosurgery (single high-dose)
